What to expect with 1:1 coaching

  • An initial phone or Zoom session to review your background and goals and go over some basic running fundamentals, including injury prevention, form, nutrition, running gear, and selecting a goal race.
  • A comprehensive training plan through Final Surge designed to fit your schedule. Training plans are based on the principles of progressive overload and include strength training workouts and cross-training. Depending on your experience and goals, the plan may include speed and hill work, tune-up races and other workouts aimed at helping you achieve your goals.
  • Consistent feedback and communication with coaches through Final Surge are needed to monitor and encourage progress, answer questions, discuss concerns and adjust workouts as needed.
  • Fueling and injury prevention strategies.  
  • Comprehensive race-day preparation, including pacing and nutrition.
  • Access to our team of experts, including dietitians and physical therapists
  • Discounts for selected online running gear retailers and local races

You’ve put in weeks of training for your goal marathon, but do you have a plan for executing so that you have the best opportunity to reach your potential?

We offer a race preparation coaching call, providing you with a comprehensive review of all of the logistics related to your race, including:

  • Taper week
  • Timeline
  • Mental strategies
  • Fueling and nutrition plan
  • Packing list
  • Course-specific pacing plan

We include this service with all of our individual remote coaching plans and are offering it to runners outside of our Run Farther & Faster clientele as an a la carte service.

After filling out a profile that provides us with information about your training and experience, we will spend 30-45 minutes reviewing your race plan and answering your questions.
